New game studios pop up all the time and they’re always looking to collab with bloggers & game journalists. Gaming blogs are great because they offer news coverage, game reviews, and press.

Thankfully it’s also easier than ever to launch your own gaming blog from scratch. But this can be a daunting task if you have no idea where to start.

TRIBUTE TO THE DEATH OF A LEGEND

Kobe Bryant, one of the all-time NBA greats — a legend even before he finally hung it up in 2016 — was reportedly killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

He was 41 years old.

According to the AP, nine people in total were killed when the private helicopter flying over Calabasas, Calif. caught fire and dropped from the sky.

Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, was reportedly not among the victims, but his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was one of those who died in the crash.

THE FUTURE OF ESPORTS IS HERE

The future of all sports is esports. That may sound like a bold statement but there is growing evidence to support it. Today’s spectators and participants expect to be digitally engaged while they watch. And the most effective way to deliver digital engagement is through “gamification” – the transformation of watching into playing.

While the “real” sports world is still far bigger than the competitive esports community, esports is showing supporters a new kind of future. A future where experiences make the most of fans’ desire for interactivity within their leisure experiences. Today’s consumer does not just want to watch or listen, they also want to participate – and esports integrates these principles into people’s leisure time.
